Security Update

March 17, 2012 Off By Editor

Dear Readers,

Hope you are fine and doing fine at your end. The last few days were very difficult for us, as a series of unfortunate events happened and our site was attacked by malware and we were forced to skip an issue. One of the WordPress tools went wrong and the security was compromised. The attack was serious with multiple breaches, so we took our time to clean the site completely. We apologize for all the inconvenience caused and thank all of you for supporting us through this time.

We have made sure that the site remains secure in the future and installed anti-malware in the site. We have also taken other precautions that make the site more secure. We have tried to make the site fairly secure and we assure that it is safe for you to visit the site.  Having said that, we would also like to request that if you face any issue please let us know about it by mailing to security[at]friedeye.com.

We have also made changes to  the layout of the site and some of the features that you liked in the our previous site may not be available immediately. You can let us know about your favorite features  and other feedback by mailing us to feedback[at]friedeye.com.  We have skipped the publication of March 15 issue as the previous issue was not read by many of our readers. Please let us know about what you feel about the issue.

Last but not the least, we would like to thank a few people who took out time from their precious time to help us get out of this problem. Siddhesh Kabe from Sidoscope and Vinayak Gole, a regular columnist in Fried Eye without whose help we could not have get past the situation in such quick time. We would also like to mention the remarkable dedication shown by our Executive Editor Dr. Mani Padma, who pushed her limits by learning certain technical things and trying to restore the site making us believe that everything is possible if there is sincerity in our efforts. We would also like to thank our authors and readers who stood by us and kept inquiring about the situation regularly and offered help by providing valuable feedback to us. We hope to continue in receiving this unconditional love and support for the days to come. There are many others who helped us in this period and naming all of them is not possible within the scope of this note.

Wishing all of you a safe and secure browsing. Happy Reading.
