Bet You Did Not Know These Facts About Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2

Presenting some amazing trivia about the movie which hit the silver screen in India today!

Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Ayesha, the leader of the Sovereign race, is 6’3” and James Gunn wanted her to be even taller so she would tower over Chris Pratt. With platform shoes added, Debicki rose to 6’7” and did top tall Chris Pratt, who stands at 6’2”.

With the expanded role of the Ravagers, costume designer Judianna Makovsky was busy bringing more design details and realism to their costumes. The costume designer and her team made over 200 Ravagers costumes to be used in the film.

Casting the Ravagers was fun for James Gunn as he had the opportunity to work with some of his best friends. In addition to his brother Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin and Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu, Gunn’s buddies include comedian Steve Agee playing Gef the Ravager; Stephen Blackehart, who plays Brahl, Retch played by Evan Jones; and Halfnut played by Jimmy Urine, the lead singer for the band Mindless Self Indulgence.

Director James Gunn’s dog has a cameo. Again.

Director James Gunn played many of the actual songs from the film while scenes were being shot. Actors wore earbuds so that they could hear the music during their performances. It is a process that the actors have come to embrace and enjoy, since hearing the music helps to get them in the right place to evoke emotion and drama in the scene.

In a scene early on in the movie, viewers will notice homemade speakers that were made to look like the Guardians put them together. As simple as it looks, it actually took drawings of about 300 different styles of speakers in 45 different colors to finally get to the speaker used in the movie. And then they had to construct 15 sets of them!
