Silent Dreams

I wish I could have you near me,

I wish I could caress your hair;

I wish I could kiss your forehead;

I wish I could love you near.

In silence I dream my dreams;

Unwithered, unrelented, in peace.

This silent longing is all I have

Please, please don’t take this away!

I wonder how and why I faltered.

What led my dreams to shatter?

Wasn’t it enough to just love?

And wish to be loved back?

All these I realize now-

My foolish silent dreams.
