Match 12 RBC vs KKR

April 11, 2013 Off By Harshdip Singh

Pepsi-IPL-2013-Match-Ticket-Booking-ProcessTwo teams competing at Bengaluru who’s owners are very very famous for either good or bad reasons.
KKR lead by Gambhir have McCullum back to their squad and RCB have Chris Gayle as always.
News is though that McCullum is not selected for the match. Chris Gayle, even if he would have been injured, would be selected to bat. Thank god he is fit and fine to increase the IPL sixes counter.
So, the delhi boys out at Bengaluru for the toss. Kohli wins it and puts Kolkata to bat.
Doesn’t start well though as Bisla falls in the first over. Some nice display of batting from Gambhir and showing it to the selectors he has got it in him. Scores a half century which is the only remarkable innings in the innings. Kallis wasn’t going quickly either.
Yusuf was given a chance today promoted above the order to score and did a quick 27 off 17 but played a reckless shot and went back to the resting chairs. Nobody else shows any resistance and were down like nine pins.
Ended at a very below par score of 154-8 in 20 overs. You can see a good job done in the captaincy from Kohli. The young gun is gearing up for his role in the Indian team soon.
The wait ends and you have the huge Chris Gayle batting.
Trying to score quickly, Mayank Agarwal falls soon in the chase in the 3rd over. Gayle and Kohli went slowly in the power play overs and gave a nice route for the chase.
After they got going, there was no place in the ground which was left from scoring. Keeping the fielders on their toes, these two scored freely.
Until in the 10th over, Kohli trying to push Balaji, gave one into the hands of the fielder at deep cover.
And we see a non-delightful scene in the center if you an Indian Cricket Fan. Kohli must have blabbered something after getting out and Gambhir and Kohli have a tiff which has to be stopped by the Umpire.
Soon, the attention shifts to AbD in the center.
De Villiers and Gayle continue well hitting the slow KKR bowlers in the gaps. And soon suddenly, Gayle break free and shows us the Gayle as we know him. Hitting the balls at will. Tacking Narine well and we could well see it they had a plan for the mystery spinner, Sunil Narine.
Giving off just 17 runs in his stipulated 4 overs, but they did not let him have any wicket.
The remaining wasn’t difficult. RCB reached the target with a huge six into the stand from Gayle and winning with match with 8 wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare.
85 of 50 deliveries, its all Gayle-ed here at Bangalore. Virat praises for Gayle saying the boundaries are all too small for Gayle.
Winning his umpteenth Man of the Match, Gayle is his usual cheerful self at the presentation.
What an innings, What a crowd and What a Gayle !
We hope this IPL goes on forever and Gayle bats this way always.
Delight to watch. No matter what, you can never hate this guy.
