Leap Series

Leap Series

“If you can’t fly, jump”.
Diganta Gogoi, originally from Assam but living in Kolkata for more than three years now, believes that jumping is the closest one can feel to flying; when one is completely free. Capturing the essence of this moment of freedom are the photos in his “Leap Series”. All the photos have been shot using a Nikon D80 camera, and when asked about special techniques used in the pictures, all the photographer had to say was, “No techniques used as such.  Just point the camera, wait for the moment, and shoot.”

Diganta’s photos in the “Leap Series” are a narration of a quintessential summer dusk. The sweltering heat, the burning sun, sweaty sticky skin, and then the leap; the letting go, the empty feeling in the pit of the stomach and the splash of cool water. Perfect.
