What comes to your mind when you hear the word fashion? Clothes? Accessories? Cosmetics? Of course they constitute a greater part of the idea of fashion but fashion isn’t just about clothes and accessories, fashion is a statement of your way of living. Your lifestyle; as they say-How you live speaks volumes about your style of living? You don’t need a Prada and Gucci to make a statement -that, of course you will if you have them, but that isn’t the only way. If you live healthy, if the accessories and products you choose reflect a not only healthy and fashionable style but also a definitive statement about your principles and beliefs, it can also be called a fashionable lifestyle. No doubt people find yoga and ayurveda fashionable! So how about changing your style to Khaadi this month which is not only bio friendly but also portrays your solidarity towards a cause to uphold Indian values and tradition? I visited my nearby Khaadi gramodyog store to have an exclusive glimpse of the store and its products and what I found there surprised me.

If khaadi brings to your mind pictures of a stiff fabric in light brown monochromes, you are mistaken. Times have changed. Khaadi offers you wide choices of color and fabrics  which though is costlier than those nukkad bazaar or street markets, but are comparatively quite cheaper than the products you find in pricey malls.         Kurtis which are becoming popular among working women and college going girls come in multitude of colors and designs- printed, or appliqué work, or with decorative smock, mostly in comfortable cottons. They come in free sizes so that women of any size can fit in. The prices start from a range of Rs 300 upwards.          If you like to wear your own customized tailor made designs, then you can go for unstitched dress materials which comes in variety of fabric like butter cotton – a fabric which is glossier and also comes in designs like – print, embroideries  and jari works. The variety and colors that you will find there will simply amaze you.   You will find sarees too in affordable ranges, the saree being of a light material called khadi silk. .Though it is not silk in actuality but its texture, gloss and light weight ness gives a silk like feel. It makes a good gift for your aunt or your mother and is also lighter on your pocket.     The other home accessories and life style products like vases and figurines are also worth a buy,. They have got cushions, brightly colored cushioned seats or mudhas, rugs and flower vases, art and crafts which can transform your home instantly with its style and colors       But the best part about khaadi lifestyle is that it’s not exclusively for females. There are also shirts in checks and stripes, kurtas , pajama, shoes for the males.  Other non garment products available are bed sheets, honey, candles, wicker baskets, soaps and lotions to name a few- in other words it is a one stop solution for all.

So the next time you feel like going for a total make over for your home and self then try Khaadi whose products you will find in your neighborhood khaadi store  (which are also Govt. franchise)

So contribute towards your Nation’s progress. Change to Khaadi.
