Colour Camaraderie

With the onset of another party season lets count the top party prints and colour combos to create the perfect edgy, hip and cool look for this fall.

Another year gone by and with it another party season is upon us. And I am looking at a fresh approach to the holidays with a rather lively look this winter. Fashion taken seriously is boring. Keep it alive by injecting your own wit and personality into it. If you feel that you have to follow the stereotype of girlie dresses and heels all the time, then you are a fashion victim. Pity!

So, lets take fashion a notch farther from dresses and heels and make a life statement out of it with the exclusive colors and prints of this season and create a look that is edgy, hip and happening.

Yellow: My first pick and undoubtedly the hottest colour this season. Pick anything from mellow yellow to the zingy sunshine, you cannot go wrong. For a party look, go for tops in satin and chiffon with a pair of skinny denims. For the girl who likes to rock a dress, pick a belted one. Keep the belt black, otherwise you might just go over the top.

If you are not the party type go for t-shirts or pull-overs. You can also pick a warm wrap-around or muffler in that shade. They go almost with everything. You can also accessorize your regular outfit with a yellow handbag, beaded bracelets or neck pieces (go for the long ones in case of the latter). You can also opt for a pair of flat sandals in yellow.

Midnight Hues: My personal favorite. An array of colors to pick from. Midnight hues of purple, blue, black and gray; turquoise, coral, lipstick red and earthy yellow add vibrancy to the palette.

Midnite Hues Dress

Turquoise is very versatile colour and gives a very upbeat vibe. It looks amazing with all sorts of unexpected colors such as red, hot pink, coral, chocolate, mellow yellow and grey. If you are a party person, turquoise is a must for you this season. Pick anything from a stylish satin top, a silk dress, or stilettos in this shade. You can also pick up clutches, belts, jewellery and scarves.

Call it midnight blue or deep indigo, its the new black this fall. It is absolutely stunning and looks good in almost all textures, velvet, satin or chiffon. Accessorize with matted silver jewellery, maybe a bracelet or a pair of nice earrings.

These colors also can be used sparingly in your make-up. There are a wide range of eye shadows, lipsticks, eye-liners available in these shades. Go for the best look according to the mood of the occasion and the dress that you pick.

But remember, midnight hues are not meant for regular wear. These are glamorous colors and do justice only in such occasions. So be conscious when you pick them. Do not over accessorize them, otherwise you might just end up looking a tad tacky.

Nudes: Earthy neutrals are in this season. If you are not comfortable with earthy hues, go for pastel nudes. A pastel nude trench coat with a black belt is just what you need to make that statement. Pair it up with black transparent stockings and a pair of black heels. I personally love the blush pink hue. The nude and black combination has become the favorite for all the major fashion brands.

Nudes

You can also go for the soft flesh tone ones. But they are a bit tricky sometimes. So you have to be very careful. Don’t go for tight clothes. Then you might end up looking naked!

These nude shades are available in almost all the fashion products. Apparel, shoes, accessories, make-up; you name it, you got it. Just make sure that you don’t overdo while donning them.

Pale Gold and Silver: Any season of the year and we like to wear our bling. And when its the season for weddings, fashion is incomplete without it. All the gold and the silver come out of the safes this time of the year. But this fall, bling has taken a matted look. Instead of the flashy pieces, go for the pale ones. They look more sophisticated and alluring.

Pale gold and silver is also big on the accessories section this season. Other than jewellery, you can also choose from a range of other items; clutches, bags, eyewear, belts shoes etc.

A pale gold sari with a red border complete with sequins and beads is the perfect choice for a wedding. Though I won’t mind emerald green or white sari with a pale gold border either. You can also go for the same combos in your traditional wear (in my case mekhela saador).

Black & White: Never goes out of fashion. If staying minimal is what you prefer then nothing goes better than the combination of these two colors. Add a chic animal print scarf for that extra kick. White blouses with straight black skirts looks smart and trendy. Add a pair of black stocking and black heels, and the look is complete.

White and black overcoats are very much in, this fall. You can also don a daring look by going for white tights.

Pair them with ankle length boots (heeled or not).

So there you go, all set to paint the town red, sorry, yellow and black and white and what not! Don’t fret if you haven’t tried any of these before. If there’s any time to do something daring and bold and new, this is it! Go ahead and discover the diva in you. And in case you don’t belong to the fairer species, guys, you know now what to get the lady and surprise her this season! Adios from the Wild Cherry.
